Accessibility

This shop targets WCAG 2.2 level AA. Here is what that means in practice, and what to do if something still gets in your way.

What is built in

• Every colour pair on the site is computed against the WCAG contrast formula at build time. A palette that put text below 4.5:1, or a control border below 3:1, fails the build and never ships.
• Every interactive target is at least 44 by 44 pixels.
• Everything works from the keyboard, in a logical order, with a visible focus ring. The first thing you can tab to on every page is a skip link.
• Adding to the basket, changing a quantity and choosing an option are announced to screen readers through live regions, so you are told what happened rather than left to discover it.
• Images have real alternative text. The database refuses to publish a product whose photographs have empty alt text, which is why there are no image or product photo placeholders here.
• Text reflows to 320 pixels wide without horizontal scrolling, and scales to 200% without losing content.
• If you have asked your system to reduce motion, the site honours it: no sliding drawer, no flying basket animation, no smooth scroll.
• Nothing on the site relies on colour alone to carry meaning.

Known gaps

Being honest is more useful than claiming a clean sheet:

• Product listings and live prices need JavaScript. Without it you get a working page, a phone number and an email address, but not a browsable catalogue. We would rather tell you that than let the page look broken.
• The site has not yet been through a formal third-party audit. The claims above come from our own testing with a keyboard, VoiceOver and an automated pass.
